What is counted. The first time you click, press a key, drop a file or scroll past a quarter of a page, your browser sends one message to in.hatcherylake.com naming this site, the kind of visit and, if the link you followed ends in a tag such as ?ref=news, that tag, which says where the link was shared; the tag is kept in this tab's session storage until you close the tab, so the rest of your visit carries it. The first time you scroll past the first screen or use the page's tool, game or main button, it sends one more message of the same kind. The first time you follow a link to another site, your browser sends one more message of the same kind, saying only whether the link was one that may pay us a commission (following one of those also counts as using the page); it does not say which link or where it goes. The edge keeps a hash of your IP address, your browser's user agent, the site, the kind and the date, mixed with a random salt that exists only in memory and is replaced at midnight Pacific time every day. The hash counts you once a day; once the salt is gone it cannot be linked to you or to another day. A second hash, of your network (your IP address without its last part) and the site, made the same way, limits how many visitors one network can add in a day. The edge does not keep your IP address or user agent.

Cookies. This site sets none for visitors. The owner's own browsers carry a cookie named edge_op, so the owner's visits are not counted as visitors.

Saved work. When you save something here, the site's server keeps it in the site's own database (for each kind of item it saves: its private key, an encrypted copy of what you saved that the site cannot read, since only the part of the link after # unlocks it and browsers never send that part), with when it was last opened or changed. Saving gives you a private link: anyone who has that link can open the item, and change or delete it where the site offers that, so share it only with people you trust. There are no accounts. An item is deleted at the latest 90 days after it was last opened or changed.

To slow down misuse, the server counts each visitor's requests for one minute by a hash of their IP address, mixed with a random value; the hash is held only in the server's memory, never stored, and the count starts over each minute.

Apart from what you save, nothing else is collected: no accounts, advertising or third-party trackers.
