        How it works

        1. Add who's inFirst names or nicknames are all it needs. No emails, no phone numbers, no sign-up.
        2. Log what each person paidTick who shared each cost: the whole group for the cabin, two people for the kayak.
        3. Settle in a few paymentsAllsquare nets everything out, so a group of five settles in four payments or fewer.

        Private by design

A saved group is encrypted in your browser, with a key that only your link holds. We store only what we cannot read. There is no account to make and nothing to install.

        • No sign-up and no app
        • Names and amounts are encrypted before they leave your device
        • Only your link can open the group
        How is each expense split?

Evenly between the people you tick for it. When the cents don't divide evenly, the leftover cents go to the first people in your list, so the shares always add up to what was paid.

How does it keep payments few?

It adds up what each person paid and what their shares cost, then pairs whoever owes the most with whoever is owed the most, again and again. A group settles in at most one payment fewer than it has people.

Can my group add to the same split?

Yes. Tap "Save a shared link" and send that link to the group. Everyone who opens it sees the same group and can add expenses; changes save as you go. Without the link, no one can open the group again, us included, so keep it somewhere safe.

Can you read our names and amounts?

No. Your browser encrypts the group with a random key before saving it, and the key sits in the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to a website. Our server keeps only the group's id and the encrypted text; open "What our server stores" under a saved link to see that exact row.

How long is a saved group kept?

Until you delete it, or until nobody has opened its link for 90 days. "Delete this group" removes it from our server for everyone.

How do I bring a group over from Splitwise?

On Splitwise's website, open the group and export it as a spreadsheet, a .csv file. Then tap "Import from Splitwise" here and pick that file. Your device reads the file; it isn't uploaded. Allsquare checks that everyone's balance matches the export's totals and tells you if anything doesn't.

Can I use it without saving?

Yes. Until you save, nothing is sent to us: the split lives only in this page's link after the # sign, so a bookmark brings it back.

        Does it send money?

No. It works out who should pay whom and how much. You pay each other however your group usually does.
